ORGANIZING TIPS FOR WORKING WOMEN: The Power of the PAUSE
Author: Patty Kreamer
Being a working woman today is tough. The daily grind never stops, and most of the time, life balance is not even an option. What, are you kidding?
And what’s more, you are expected to have some semblance of a family and personal life in the limited glimpses of time between work days.
Can it be done? It depends on whether you are ready and willing to make some changes in your life. Successful change can only happen if you are ready and willing – and that goes with any type of change that you want to make.
So what’s the secret to finding life balance?
The PAUSE that Refreshes
You have to pause long enough to realize that you are in a cycle that you want to break. You have to actually stop and look at where you are and how you got there. Sometimes this happens without a choice on your part. Your body shuts down and you wake up one day ready to chuck it all, wondering how you ever got to this point. Ever happen to you?
To avoid this, you must pause. It is not complicated; in fact, it’s rather basic. You need to take an inventory of what you have in your life by looking at how your typical day evolves. Probe into some areas of your life that may be contributing to your downward spiral. Here are some great places to start that inventory:
• Examine the flow of your day.
Where do you seem to get jammed up in your day? Are you always looking for your keys, papers, glasses, etc.? If so, take time to pay attention to your habits. Find a home for those constantly sought-after items so they will always be in the same place when you need them. |

The Secret Is Purposeful Action |

I'm sure you have heard of The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne. It is a hit movie on DVD, a best selling book and audio book. It is based on the premise that the secret to success is the Law of Attraction. Basically, if you focus on what you want and set the intention to get it, eventually the universe will make it happen for you.
Although I really enjoyed the DVD, the book and the audio, yes I have all three and I highly recommend them, I think it falls a little short of the mark. You see, I have been telling people for years that "success is based on persistency and consistency, not magic." In other words, I agree 100% that what you focus on expands. So you must focus on what you want, not what you don't want. Then you must set the intention to have it. But without taking purposeful action toward the achievement of your new goal you are simply just dreaming.
Have you ever wondered why there are so many people that are not successful, not happy with their lives or want more from life? You would think that with so many new books on self help and the topic of success that come out every day, that most people would be successful and happy.
One problem is that believe it or not, 80% of non fiction books do not get read. Many people buy them but very few read them completely. It's as though some people think that by simply owning the book they benefit from its content. If that is you, don’t worry, you’re not alone. But that being said, if you would like to start changing your life and your level of success, you need to actually do something about it.
There is a huge problem with implementation in the world today. Most people operate at only a small percentage of their true potential. As a result, they realize only a small percentage of their potential success. In most case the "keys to the kingdom" or the "recipe for success" in any given field of endeavor is spelled out in its entirety, but people just won’t do what it takes to succeed. The problem is poor to no implementation. Positive thinking and affirmations are not enough by themselves. You need to actually take action. |

Have you ever imagined on how nice it would be to work for yourself, where you do not have to answer to your boss and you have control over your own time? Many a times, we find that working for people guarantees us a stable income every month and we can sort of predicting the year-to-year increment that we will get from our employers; thus we plan for our future based on the salary that we get or we predict we will get in future.

For many job-seekers, searching for a new job is a stressful experience. The end result, though, is usually a positive one in which the job-seeker is rewarded for his or her past accomplishments with a better job -- a job that has more prestige, higher pay, and perhaps with a better organization.
